Biographical Info

Ellen believes that great coaching is less about mastering techniques and more about mastering the art of being fully present, curious, and in partnership with another human being.  As an ICF Master Certified Coach (MCC), she is passionate about supporting fellow coaches in developing the confidence, awareness, and authenticity that allow the ICF Core Competencies to emerge naturally in their coaching conversations.

With a Master’s degree in Health and Wellness Coaching, National Board Certification in Health & Wellness Coaching (NBC-HWC), and extensive international experience as a coach, mentor, educator, and workplace wellness consultant, Ellen brings a distinctive perspective to mentor coaching.  Originally from the United States and based in Switzerland for more than four decades, she has worked with individuals, leaders, organizations, and coaches across diverse industries, cultures, and stages of life.

A former finance executive turned health and wellness entrepreneur, Ellen founded Whealthness to help individuals and organizations translate awareness into meaningful, sustainable change.  Her work spans leadership development, workplace well-being, mental health, longevity, and life transitions.  She has also contributed to the advancement of professional coaching through international leadership roles, including Chair of the Global Wellness Institute’s Wellness Coaching Initiative and Global Leader of the ICF Health & Wellness Coaching Community of Practice.

For Ellen, mentor coaching is a collaborative learning partnership rather than an exercise in evaluating performance.  She creates a supportive, confidential space where coaches can explore their recordings, recognize their strengths, challenge assumptions, and deepen their understanding of the ICF Core Competencies.  Her approach combines thoughtful observation, constructive feedback, reflective dialogue, and a genuine curiosity about each coach’s unique way of being.

Ellen welcomes coaches pursuing ACC, PCC, and MCC credentials, as well as experienced coaches seeking to renew their skills and deepen their mastery.  She particularly enjoys working with coaches who are ready to move beyond doing coaching toward being a coach, bringing greater ease, presence, and intentionality to their practice.

Outside her professional life, Ellen is an enthusiastic swimmer, lifelong learner, and advocate for thriving at every age through her writing and speaking.  She brings the same curiosity, energy, and appreciation for human potential to her mentoring relationships.

Ellen’s invitation to fellow coaches is:  Let’s explore what becomes possible when you trust yourself, trust your client, and allow your coaching to unfold naturally.
