Dr. Patrick Williams
MCC, ACMC Transformational LivingBiographical Info
One of the early pioneers of coaching, Pat is often called “the ambassador of life coaching.” Pat has been a licensed psychologist since 1980 and began executive coaching in 1990 with Hewlett Packard, IBM, Kodak, and other companies along the front range in Colorado. That early experience led him to attending early coach training in 1995 with Coach University and become a founding member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF). He received his Master Certified Coach (MCC) designation in 1998.
He then started his own coach training school, the Institute for Life Coach Training (ILCT) in 1999, which specializes in training those with a human services orientation. He has authored six books about professional coaching with W.W. Norton books.
In 1977, Dr. Pat completed his doctorate in Transpersonal Psychology (following an MA in Humanistic Psychology). This in-depth exploration of personal growth and whole person orientation helped him see the wisdom of early psychological theorists and luminaries who influenced the birth of the Life Coaching profession.
Pat is a past board member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF). He is past president of he Association of Coach Training Organizations (ACTO), an honorary VP of the International Society of Coaching Psychology, and a founding member of Harvard University’s Institute of Coaching. In 2018, he was selected to be one of five coaches in the inaugural Circle of Distinction by the ICF.
Pat continues to speak and train others in aspects of optimal living and mentoring and teaching in various capacities.
